Netsoft announced the launch of its RFID Competence Center today,
at its Chandigarh Delivery Center, with a technology showcase program
at its Technology Research Center at Bangalore.
The RFID Competence Center is the only such showcase
in North India as of this launch, and will focus extensively on
designing RFID-based application solutions for retail, supply chain
automation, entertainment and the security space. The center will
be staffed by certified professionals with field experience in the
design and development of RFID applications with a range of hardware
and middleware platforms from vendors like Symbol, Alien, Sun, Microsoft,
and other major vendors.
"The setting up of this competence center
underlines our belief that RFID-based systems will play a very important
role in the information systems of every connected corporation in
the days ahead," said Harjeet S. Gulati, Netsoft Global Service's
President. The center will also focus on the interplay between RFID
systems and a range of wireless technologies like Bluetooth, WLAN,
Brew, Windows Mobile Platform, and J2ME. With this step, Netsoft's
customers in retail, supply chain and logistics, entertainment and
security domains can leverage a higher capability profile, and team
with better exposure to real-world scenarios.
The competence center will deliver consulting,
custom application development, system integration, and rollout
support services for the entire range of RFID systems for small
and medium enterprise segments, as well as in pilot projects for
global enterprises.
